Immersive Frida Kahlo at the Castle

We are delighted to welcome Immersive Frida Kahlo to The Saunders Castle, February 10 through May 8.

Produced by Lighthouse Immersive, this innovative art exhibition features 500,000 cubic feet of art, 90,000,000 pixels and 1,200,000 frames of video. It is the first in the Lighthouse ArtSpace at the Castle series of immersive art displays coming to The Saunders Castle in the months ahead.

GBH Executive Arts Editor Jared Bowen called the exhibition, “A narrative that really takes us into the world of Frida Kahlo.”

In a February 11, 2022 Boston Globe article about the Boston opening, Mara R. Kahlo, niece of Frida Kahlo and a principal of the Frida Kahlo foundation, remarks, “This is a new thing, for new generations. I think maybe this is the new museum — it’s not just about Frida’s paintings, but how she lived.”
